Sensex rises 389 points to 81,387; Nifty gains 125 points to 24,748 in afternoon trade

Benchmark domestic equity indices extended gains in afternoon trade today.

The 30-share index at the Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex, was up 389 points at 81,387, and the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty50 was up 125 points at 24,748, when reports last came in.
