22-year-old girl critical after consuming poisonous substance in Handwara

Srinagar,, KNT : A 22-year-old girl from Handwara in north Kashmir was hospitalized in critical condition on Wednesday after allegedly consuming a poisonous substance at her residence.

Officials said the girl, (name withheld) was first taken to District Hospital Baramulla and later referred to SKIMS Soura for advanced treatment.

Quoting family members, officials said that the girl consumed the substance at home under unknown circumstances. Doctors at SKIMS described her condition as critical.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident. [KNT]
