Amira Kadal Pedestrian Bridge to Be Dedicated to Public Soon, Says Divisional Commissioner
4.5-Km Riverfront Expansion Linked With Amira Kadal, Tourist Footfall Expected to Rise
Srinagar, , KNT: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will soon dedicate the newly developed pedestrian bridge at Amira Kadal to the public, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Ansul Garg said on Monday.
Talking about the project, Garg said the pedestrian bridge at Amira Kadal will emerge as a major point of attraction in Srinagar and is expected to significantly enhance tourist footfall in the area. He said the makeover and renovation work at Amira Kadal has been completed, marking an important milestone in the city’s urban renewal efforts.
The Divisional Commissioner said the riverfront has been expanded by about 4.5 kilometres and now connects with the Amira Kadal pedestrian bridge, adding to the city’s aesthetic appeal and public spaces.
Garg, as per the news agency Kashmir News Trust said the project would be particularly beneficial for morning walkers, who would be able to enjoy the improved infrastructure along the river. He added that the pedestrian bridge and surrounding development would also help boost commercial activity in the area.
Congratulating Srinagar Smart City Limited, Garg said the completion of the Amira Kadal makeover reflects the commitment to transforming Srinagar into a more pedestrian friendly and vibrant city.
He said the pedestrian bridge will be beneficial for traders and shopkeepers in the area by improving accessibility and foot movement, thereby contributing to local economic activity.[KNT]
