J&K Home Department orders deputation and repatriation of police officers

Srinagar, KNT: The Jammu and Kashmir Home Department has ordered the deputation and repatriation of several police officers between the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and the Union Territory of Ladakh in the interest of administration.

According to Government Order, two police officers presently serving in Ladakh have been repatriated to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Similarly, two officers posted in Jammu and Kashmir have been deputed to Ladakh.

The order states that the deputation of the officers shall be for a period of two years or until they are recalled. It further clarifies that the lien and promotion prospects of the officers will remain with the Home Department, Jammu and Kashmir.

The officers deputed to Ladakh will be entitled to avail incentives as may be admissible during the course of their posting in the Union Territory. The order also states that the officers shall be deemed to have been relieved with immediate effect and have been directed to report to the Home Department, Union Territory of Ladakh, for further posting.

The decision has been taken as part of routine administrative arrangements to ensure effective policing and optimal utilisation of manpower in both Union Territories.

The order has been issued by the Principal Secretary to the Government, Home Department, by order of the Lieutenant Governor. [KNT]
