No salaries without vaccination certificate: GAD to its employees

Following the footsteps of District Development Commissioner Rajouri Rajesh Kumar Shavan, the Director Finance Government Administration Department (GAD), has directed all the employees of the department to submit the COVID certificate or lose salary for the month of September .

“The JK GAD which issued circular and orders for the other government departments on routine basis is not serious for the order issued by the government as maximum employees of the department did not submit the mandatory COVID 19 vaccinated certificates as yet”, said official sources, adding, taking the cognizance of the matter Director Finance GAD has issued circular to the department’s employees”.

The circular issued to the employees to submit the COVID 19 vaccinated report or lose salary for the month of September and in possession of The News Now read as, “ Furnishing of COVID Certificates- In this connection, you may kindly share the COVID 19 Certificates of all the employees ( Jammu and Srinagar) to the Accounts Section, GAD, today positively, failing which the salary for the month of September 2021 shall not be drawn in favour of defaulters”.

Pertinently, on 15 June, the administration in J&K’s Rajouri district issued order stating that the salary of employees deployed for Covid duty should not be released unless they furnish a certificate of achieving 100 per cent vaccination target.

District Magistrate Rajesh Kumar Shavan, who is also DDMA chairman, said in an order that to ensure 100 per cent vaccination of target groups, Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) have been directed not to draw the salary of employees deployed on Covid duty/active field offices unless a certificate is furnished regarding vaccination.

On April 5, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department officials in north Kashmir’s Bandipora had made it mandatory for persons above 45 to get themselves vaccinated in order to be eligible for government ration.
“Please remember that without producing Covid-19 vaccination certificate, the ration will not be issued in any case,” read the order issued by the assistant director, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Bandipora.
However, the controversial order was withdrawn by the department after public outcry.
