16.51% voter turnout recorded till 9 am in assembly polling

In Tamil Nadu, the Voting Percent reached 16.51 per cent till 9 am. In the Chennai district, T.Nagar, Velachery, and Virugambakkam have registered more than 18 per cent. Kavundampalayam in Coimbatore has registered 20.26 per cent.

In Tiruchi East, out of the nine constituencies, five have registered above 18 per cent votes. In the Salem district, Attur and Sankari have recorded over 20 percent votes. Bhavani Assembly constituency has recorded more than 20 per cent. In Tiruppur district, out of the seven Assembly constituencies, Avinashi, Tiruppur North and Tirupur South have recorded over 20 per cent of votes.

In the Kanyakumari district, Nagercoil has registered over 18 per cent votes. The enthusiastic young voters are eagerly awaiting to cast their votes. out of the five crore 75 lakh voters in the State, more than one crore 25 lakh voters are in the range of 18 to 29 years. Over 10 lakh are senior citizens.
