Captain Amarinder Singh meets Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi
Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi yesterday. Later, in a tweet, Capt. Amarinder Singh said he discussed the prolonged farmers’ agitation against Farm Laws and urged Mr. Shah to resolve the crisis urgently with the repeal of the laws and guarantee MSP, besides supporting Punjab in crop diversification.
There was wide speculation about his joining BJP, days after he stepped down as Chief Minister of Punjab. He however refused to answer questions about joining BJP. When he resigned as the Chief Minister earlier this month, had spoken of having his options open.
Capt. Amarinder stepped down as Punjab Chief Minister after a long and bitter feud with detractors, including Navjot Singh Sidhu.
