Army Truck Mangled in Jammu–Poonch Highway Mishap; Jawan Injured
Jammu, KNT: An Army jawan sustained injuries after a military truck met with a road accident on the Jammu–Poonch Highway near Kalidhar on Thursday.
The impact of the accident extensively damaged the vehicle, with the front cabin bearing the brunt of the collision. The windshield was shattered and the driver’s side of the truck was badly mangled, reflecting the severity of the impact.
Army personnel, assisted by local residents, immediately launched a rescue operation and evacuated the injured jawan from the damaged vehicle before shifting him to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Officials said the injured soldier was provided immediate medical care, while the condition of the jawan was not immediately known.
The accident briefly affected the movement of traffic on the highway before the damaged Army vehicle was cleared from the road.
Officials have initiated an inquiry into the circumstances leading to the accident. [KNT]
