Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Expresses Grief Over Demise Of Former COAS General Vishwa Nath Sharma
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has expressed grief over the demise of former Chief of the Army Staff, General Vishwa Nath Sharma. In a social media post, Mr. Singh described General Sharma as a distinguished military leader who served the nation with unwavering dedication, courage and honour.
He said General Sharma carried forward the illustrious legacy of his family with great distinction, including that of his elder brother, Major Som Nath Sharma, the first recipient of the Param Vir Chakra. The Defence Minister said General Sharma’s outstanding contribution to the Indian Army and his exemplary life of service will continue to inspire generations.
He conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family and paid tribute to the former Army Chief’s lifelong service to the nation.
