Sports Minister Commends Indian Contingent For Fourth-Place Finish At Glasgow Commonwealth Games

Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya has commended the Indian contingent on finishing at the 4th place at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. In a social media post, Mr Mandaviya underlined that despite the games being conducted without several disciplines where India excels, the contingent improved from 30 medals in the comparable disciplines at the previous Commonwealth Games to 39 medals this year.

He added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the growing depth and strength of Indian sport is clearly visible. He expressed pride for every athlete, coach and support staff who gave their all for the Tricolour. Mr Mandaviya underlined that as India prepares to host the Centenary Commonwealth Games 2030, the government is committed to delivering one of the greatest editions in the history of the Games.
