Security Agencies Conduct Joint Mock Drill Along Amarnath Yatra Route in Sonamarg
Ganderbal, KNT: Security and emergency response agencies on Wednesday carried out a joint mock drill at Nilgrath in Sonamarg to assess operational preparedness and coordination along the Shri Amarnath Yatra route.
The exercise, led by Ganderbal Police in coordination with other security and emergency agencies, simulated emergency response scenarios to evaluate the readiness of personnel in dealing with potential security incidents and disaster situations during the annual pilgrimage.
Officials said the drill focused on improving inter-agency coordination, response time and operational efficiency, besides testing contingency plans formulated for the safe conduct of the ongoing yatra.
The exercise forms part of a series of preparedness measures being undertaken to strengthen security and disaster management arrangements along the pilgrimage route. [KNT]
