Selected Sports Candidates Seek Early Appointment Letters After 14-Year Wait
Jammu, KNT: Candidates selected under the long-pending recruitment process conducted by the Department of Youth Services and Sports on Thursday urged the Jammu and Kashmir Government to issue appointment letters without delay, saying the selection had ended nearly 14 years of uncertainty.
A large number of selected candidates gathered in Jammu to celebrate the publication of the selection list and expressed gratitude to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Youth Services and Sports Minister Satish Sharma for facilitating the recruitment process.
The candidates said the selection of 223 aspirants marks one of the largest recruitments undertaken by the department in recent years. They also claimed that 120 of the selected candidates belong to the Jammu region, describing it as an unprecedented representation for Dogra youth in a sports recruitment process.
Calling the selection a milestone, the candidates said many of them had waited for more than a decade for the recruitment process to be completed. They appealed to the government to expedite the remaining formalities and issue appointment orders at the earliest so that the selected candidates can join their respective posts without further delay.
The recruitment was carried out by the Department of Youth Services and Sports after a prolonged pendency spanning nearly 14 years. [KNT]
