IMD Forecasts Widespread Rainfall Across Odisha

Odisha is likely to witness another spell of widespread rainfall as a fresh weather system is developing over the Bay of Bengal.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rain at most places, with heavy to very heavy rainfall likely at isolated places in parts of the state. IMD has also issued an Orange Warning for Angul and Keonjhar districts today, while several other districts remain under Yellow Warning.
The India Meteorological Department has forecast widespread rainfall across Odisha today, with light to moderate rain or thundershowers likely at most places. An upper-air cyclonic circulation over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas is likely to give rise to a Low-Pressure Area over the same region today.
The system is expected to enhance rainfall activity over Odisha. The IMD has issued an Orange Warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall in Angul and Keonjhar districts, while several districts, including Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh and Sambalpur, are under Yellow Warning. Fishermen have also been advised to remain cautious due to rough sea conditions.
