NCW Launches ‘Yashoda AI’ Initiative In Jalandhar To Promote Digital Empowerment Of Women

In Punjab, National Commission for Women (NCW) launched its “Yashoda AI” initiative in Jalandhar to promote digital empowerment and greater participation of women in emerging technologies.

This Artificial Intelligence (AI) Literacy Program, which the commission is running since last year, was launched by the NCW Chairperson, Vijaya Rahatkar during her visit to Jalandhar, yesterday, to equip women with AI literacy to enhance digital inclusion and empower them in areas of cyber security, digital privacy and safe online practices.

She also chaired a review meeting with senior district administrative officials to assess issues concerning women’s safety and protection. She said women’s safety is not merely a welfare agenda. It is one of the strongest measures of good governance. Later, she inaugurated the “She Serves” programme at a women’s college to encourage young women to explore careers in the Armed Forces.
