Monsoon Session Of Himachal Pradesh Assembly To Begin Today

The Monsoon Session of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly will begin today in Shimla. The session, which will continue till September 3, will have a total of 10 sittings. The proceedings of the House will begin at 11 AM.
An all-party meeting was held in Shimla yesterday under the chairmanship of Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania ahead of the Monsoon Session. Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Harsh Vardhan Chauhan and Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania were present at the meeting.
The Assembly Speaker urged both the ruling and opposition parties to extend their cooperation for the smooth conduct of the session. He said adequate time would be given to both the treasury and opposition benches to raise issues, and efforts would be made to ensure that matters concerning the public are raised in the House. Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur said the opposition would play a constructive role during the Monsoon Session and would strongly raise issues concerning the people in the Assembly.
