Justice Mahesh Chandra Tripathi To Take Oath As 50th Chief Justice Of Bombay High Court

Justice Mahesh Chandra Tripathi will be sworn in as the new Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court today. Governor of Maharashtra Jishnu Dev Varma will administer the oath of office to the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court.

The President approved his appointment on Saturday, following the recommendation of the Supreme Court Collegium. He will be the 50th Chief Justice of the High Court. Prior to the appointment, Justice Tripathi was serving at the Allahabad High Court.

Justice Tripathi studied law at Lucknow University. He enrolled as an advocate in 1992 and mainly practised civil law. He was appointed an additional judge of the Allahabad High Court in 2013 and became a permanent judge in 2015.
