TASK Welcomes Centre’s Extension of LTC Facility for J&K Visits
Srinagar, KNT: The Travel Agents Society of Kashmir (TASK) on Thursday welcomed the Centre’s decision to extend the special Leave Travel Concession (LTC) facility for Central Government employees visiting Jammu and Kashmir by another two years.
TASK President Waseem Gosani said the extension would encourage more Central Government employees and their families to visit Jammu and Kashmir and provide a boost to the tourism and travel sectors.
“We welcome the Centre’s decision to extend the LTC facility for Jammu and Kashmir till September 25, 2028. This will provide Central Government employees an added opportunity to visit J&K and give further impetus to tourism, travel and allied sectors,” Gosani said.
He said the decision would benefit travel agents, hoteliers, transporters and other stakeholders associated with the tourism industry.
Gosani expressed hope that the extension would encourage more visitors to choose Jammu and Kashmir as a travel destination and contribute to the growth of the region’s tourism economy.
The Centre, through the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), has extended the special LTC facility for visits to Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, the North-Eastern Region and Andaman and Nicobar Islands until September 25, 2028.
Under the scheme, eligible Central Government employees can convert one Home Town LTC into an LTC for visiting the covered regions, subject to the prescribed rules and conditions. [KNT]
