Rural Development Ministry To Train 34,000 Youth Under DDU-GKY 2.0 From Next Month

The Ministry of Rural Development will begin training nearly 34 thousand rural youth under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya- Grameen Kaushalya Yojana – 2.0 across most States and Union Territories from next month. Preparedness for the commencement of training batches was reviewed with 14 States and UTs, including Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh and Tamil Nadu in the first phase. The Ministry said that over three lakh 57 thousand rural youth will be trained by 31st of December next year.

Deen Dayal Upadhyaya- Grameen Kaushalya Yojana is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme for poor rural youth providing placement linked skill training. The duration of the training varies from three to 12 months. The Ministry highlighted that the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya- Grameen Kaushalya Yojana 2.0 Integrated Portal is equipped to facilitate end-to-end project life cycle, promoting greater efficiency, transparency and digital monitoring.
