Court cases, pending decisions stall 113 J&K projects worth Rs 245 crore

Srinagar,  KNT: As many as 113 development projects worth around Rs 245 crore are currently held up in Jammu and Kashmir because of court cases or pending decisions by competent authorities, the government informed the Legislative Assembly.

In a written reply to a question raised by BJP MLA Devyani Rana, the government said the projects were under status quo because decisions were pending before courts or competent authorities.

The Roads and Buildings Department accounted for the largest number of stalled projects at 54, followed by 12 projects under the Jal Shakti Department and 10 under Higher Education.

Jammu and Srinagar each had 13 projects under status quo, while 11 projects were pending in Anantnag district.

The government said the projects would proceed after resolution of the matters pending before courts or the competent authorities. [KNT]
