COVID-19 || J&K reports nine deaths, 569 new positive cases

Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir recorded nine more deaths due to COVID-19, pushing the total number of fatalities due to the deadly virus to 1322 while the Union Territory recorded 569 positive cases on Sunday, taking the overall tally of infections to 83633.                                                                                                                         
Of the latest 9 fatalities, 5 deaths were reported in Jammu and 4 from Valley. With fresh 5 deaths in Jammu region, the death toll has reached to 429. Out of five fatalities in Jammu region, one each reported from Jammu, Rajouri, Doda, Poonch and Udhampur.
The death toll in Kashmir region has reached to 889 with four fresh fatalities. Out of four deaths, one each were reported from district Srinagar and Pulwama while two from district Baramulla.
Among 569 fresh covid-19 cases reported in Jammu and Kashmir, 19 were travelers and 616 others The fresh cases take total to 83633.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        Among the cases, 235 were reported from Jammu Division and 400 from Kashmir Valley.
As per district-wise details, Jammu reported 109, Rajouri 29, Udhampur 12, Doda 5, Kathua 15, Poonch 14, Samba 15, Ramban 2, Kishtwar 29 and Reasi 4 while in Kashmir region district Srinagar reported 173 cases, Budgam 50, Baramulla 36, Pulwama 20, Kupwara 44, Anantnag 22, Bandipora 11, Ganderbal 35, Kulgam 5, Shopian 4.
According to media bulletin, 890 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 460 from Jammu Division and 430 from Kashmir Division.
“Out of 83633 positive cases, 10466 are Active Positive, 71845 have recovered and 1322 have died; 429 in Jammu division and 893 in Kashmir division,” the bulletin reveals the data.
The Bulletin further said that out of 1839765 test results available, 1756132 samples have been tested as negative till October 11, 2020.
Till date 612741 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 24668 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 10466 in isolation and 48306 in home surveillance. Besides, 527979 persons have completed their surveillance period.
