Applicants suffer as JMC’s online service remains affected 2nd week
Running from pillar to post to avail various certificates, especially the birth and death documents, the applicants are facing hardship in view of the snag hit online service of the Jammu Municipal Corporation for around two weeks.

Sources told ‘The News Now’ that the online system of Jammu Municipal Corporation has gone ‘out of order’ for the past two weeks thus bringing the routine work to a standstill.
“Neither people are able to apply online to avail various services nor the smooth work is going in the offices of the Corporation,” sources said.
“Those who have applied for birth and death certificates are the worst sufferers due to the non functional online system,” sources revealed and said that many applicants need certificates for admission in schools, colleges, but due to the stalled online system, their problem is adding on with each passing day.
“The online services are reportedly affected due to a fault in NIC’s National Data Center, Pune and the snag is yet to be fixed,” they said.
Nearly 150 birth and death certificates are issued daily by the Corporation but due to an error hit online service, the official work has come to a halt.
“The Corporation is also facing loss of revenue due to suspended services while other online services including the building permission issued by the Municipal Corporation have also been affected,” they said.
The National Informatics Center (NAC) in Jammu Municipal Corporation is looking after the online services.
A local expressed that he has been visiting the Corporation for the past some days to avail the birth certificate and also tried online but nothing worked on ground.
He asserted that a certificate is required for a child’s admission.
Another local suggested that the certificates and other documents should be issued manually till the snag is repaired.
