Govt likely to regularize 185 daily wagers of PDD
With an objective to address the demands being raised by daily wagers of Power Development Department, the government is mulling to regularize 150 employees in first phase.

The credible sources informed The News Now that a number of 185 daily wagers under different categories are going to be regularized soon, awaiting only final approval from the concerned authority.

The regularization of workers is done as per the vacancies available at the time of exercise.
Sources suggest that there are around 1000 posts available in the Kashmir division and 150 posts in the Jammu division.
The official further said, “Regularization is carried out according to the vacant posts that are available with the department. This number is around 150 in Jammu, and approximately 1000 in Kashmir at this time, according to which regularization will be done”.
As per the sources, there are 4996 PDLs / TDLs employed with PDD, out of which 3676 are ‘need-based’ workers. Over 21,000 people are employed with PDD in Jammu and Kashmir.
This step has come in the wake of the agreement that was reached between the stakeholders close to the midnight hour of 20 Dec where the government ensured that, “The interests of serving employees of JKPDD, shall be protected and shall not be varied to their disadvantages in terms of service benefits”.
