11787 students in Kmr to get pvt. coaching under 10% reserved quota
The Directorate of School Education Kashmir Tuesday said that over 11787 underprivileged students in Kashmir will get private coaching under a 10 per cent reserved quota for the session 2021-22.
The coaching will be provided for middle school students, high school, higher secondary, college students, civil and competitive exam aspirants.
The government in its order dated 30th April 2010 stipulated that 10% reserved departmental quota of the total intake capacity be reserved for the students belonging to the orphan, AAY, physically challenged, PHH(BPL), destitute, and underprivileged category in private coaching tuition centres.
A senior official in the education department told that last month the Directorate of School Education Kashmir has invited online applications from the aspirant students for free coaching under 10% reserved departmental quota for the session 2021-22 under orphan, AAY, physically challenged, PHH, BPL, Destitute, underprivileged category.
Whereas a departmental committee comprising of Joint Director (SSA), Personnel Officer, and SLO, DSEK was constituted to scrutinize the cases as per norms and make recommendations accordingly, he added.
“Accordingly, on the basis of recommendations of the designated committee followed by computer-based randomization, the DSEK sanctioned the selection of 11787 candidates for in private coaching centres under 10%”, he added.
He added that following the completion of the procedure, the concerned private coaching centres have now been advised to check the authenticity of the reserved category with the original documents before the selected candidate is allowed to join for free coaching under 10% departmental reserved quota”.
“Further, the selected candidates having any grievance have been asked to approach the department within a week time. Whereas the concerned private coaching centres shall submit the compliance report about joining of the student in the particular coaching centre to this office within 15 days, he added.
Also, the Heads of coaching centres have been asked to ensure implementation of SOP’s in view of the COVID-I9 pandemic as notified by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India and Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India and the Govt. of U.T Jammu & Kashmir, he added.
