Humans start getting familiarizing with the mother tongue in the womb of mother itself – Arvind Shah

Multifaceted writer, poet, translator and author Arvind Shah in an interview with TRN today emphasized on the role of mother tongue in the overall development of an individual. Sharing his own experiences he said that mother tongue plays an important role in the evolution of faculties of emotions and reason.
Talking about the Kashmiri Pandit community he said that the linguistic efficiency has taken a big hit for Kashmiri Pandits as a community. When an individual is not brought up with mother tongue as primary language, he grows as an emotionally weak person and becomes very mechanical and calculative.
