Dr. Kshama Kaul, a prolific writer, author, translator and thinker talked about various subtle and humane aspects of the exodus that the Kashmiri Pandit community suffered. In an interview with TRN talking to Bharti Kaul she explained how a peace loving and intellectual community of Kashmiri Pandits have suffered a genocide. As an author she has penned two novels Dardpur and Murti Banjan. Dardpur has become a classic piece of literary work in what is termed as literature in exile. It is highly acclaimed piece of work which was followed by recently released Murti Banjan.
She mentioned that Hiuen Tsang a Chinese scholar and traveller, after visiting Kashmir (before islamic invasion) wrote about c And it is so disheartening to see that such a community has suffered seven exoduses.
