73rd Republic Day celebrated in Handwara

73rd Republic Day was celebrated with great fervour, gaiety &  enthusiasm at District Police Lines Handwara.

Police, CRPF, SSB  and  Home Guards  participated in Republic Day parade which concluded peacefully.

Chairman Municipal Committee  Handwara  Sh. Masroor Ahmad Banday  accompanied by SP Handwara Sh. Sandeep Gupta-IPS  unfurled the National flag and took salute at the march past at DPL Handwara.

Chief Guest inspected the parade and took salute on March Past presented by the contingents of District Police Handwara, IRP, SSB, CRPF and Home Guards.

 ASP Handwara,officers from  SSB, CRPF, Tehsildar Handwara, Deputy CEO Kupwara, ZEO Handwara, Medical Superintendent DH Handwara, Executive Engineers of PHE, PDD,  R&B Division Handwara, DDCs, BDCs and respectable citizens of PD Handwara and other officers of Police and civil administration were also present on the occasion.

Chief guest in his address congratulated the participants for celebrating 73rd Republic Day, also appreciated the Covid Warriors for their selfless efforts during Pandemic, highlighted the development work done by Govt. The martyrs of Police and CAPF who sacrificed their lives for nation were paid rich tribute.

A cultural programme was also held in which student of different schools of PD Handwara participated.

 At the end, the prizes were distributed among the best contingents of parade and other participants.

 The prizes and appreciation  certificates from Police and Civil administration were also given to the Police Personnel and other civil employees who tirelessly worked hard by putting their lives in risk in safeguarding general public.

As a part of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’, a plantation drive in collaboration with social forestry department was carried out by planting different kind of saplings in the premises of DPL Handwara.
