Govt allots 45kanals of land in Valley for construction 304 of migrant quarters

The Jammu and Kashmir government on Monday accorded sanction for construction of transit accommodation of 304 flats for Kashmiri Migrant employees recruited under the Prime Minister Package at a cost of Rs.8982.46 lakhs.

The transit accommodation will be set up at Vessu in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district and in Sheikhpora in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

“Post-facto sanction is hereby accorded to the Grant of Administrative Approval to the Construction of Transit Accommodation for Kashmiri Migrant Employees recruited under the PM’s Package at the following locations at an estimated cost of Rs.8982.46 lakhs (Rupees Eight thousand nine hundred eighty-two lakhs and forty-six thousand only)”, read the order issued by the Department of Disaster Management, Relief Rehabilitation & Reconstruction, Jammu and Kashmir.

As per the order, 208 flats (2BHK) will be set up at Veesu on a quantum land of 30 Kanals at an estimated cost of Rs6462.65 Lakh. In Sheikhpora 96 flats (2BHK) will be built at a quantum land of 15 Kanals at a cost of Rs.2519.81.

“Furthermore, modalities regarding allotment may be worked out to ensure equity and fairness in the allotment process. The Administrative Approval shall be subjected to the fulfilment of all the codal formalities, procedural norms with the following conditions, the order reads.

The condition includes ensuring that all clearances are in place before taking up the project/ work. To ensure the execution/implementation of the project as per the guidelines/norms in vogue after fulfilment of all codal formalities.

“There shall be no cost overrun and project be completed within the set timeline. To ensure that there shall be no overlapping of funds and e-tendering mode is followed while executing the project. The land shall be available free from encumbrances. All the terms and conditions put in technical vetting by DC (Works) PWD should be fulfilled in letter & spirit”, it reads.

The building project will be declared physically completed only after the completion of sewage disposal works/STP as per the ideal requirement. The e-tendering mode and codal procedure as mandatory is followed for finalization of award of contract and working DPR is followed in the advertised BOQ. Fragmentation of project while tendering is not allowed, it added.

The physical and financial progress of the work shall be communicated to the Administrative Department by or before the 5thh of every succeeding month as per the devised format, it reads.
