DSEK to enroll labour class under APYS
The Directorate of School Education Kashmir has directed officials to enroll labour class of the unorganized sector working in their office under the Atal Pension Yojana Scheme.

Atal Pension Yojana is a government-backed pension scheme in India, primarily targeted at the unorganised sector. The scheme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 9 May 2015 in Kolkata.
As per the reports, the Director of School Education Tassaduq Hussain Mir has passed directions to Chief Education Officers and Principal DIET to take necessary steps into it.
A circular in this regard has been issued by the Director of School Education Tassaduq Hussain Mir. Referring to the Chief Education Officer, Principal DIET, the Director has said, “Attention of all Chief Education Officers and Principal DIETs towards the letter dated 31.01.2022 issued by Director Finance School Education Department regarding the adoption of Atal Pension Yojana by State Government for un-organised sector.
“As such, all Principal DIETs and Chief Education Officers are hereby directed to take all necessary steps for enrolling of labour class of unorganised sector, if any, working in their subordinate offices under Atal Pension Yojana Scheme”, it added.
A senior official in the education department told that the scheme will provide major benefits to un-organized labour who are working in offices of Chief Education Officer’s and in the office of Principal DIET. He added that the unorganized labour once enrolled would receive a pension on attaining the age of 60 years.
Asked about how many unorganized labour will be enrolled in the scheme, the official added that the numbers will come to the fore once the process is completed.
