J&K apportions 1083 employees to Ladakh
The Jammu and Kashmir government Thursday ordered apportion of 1083 employees to the Union Territory of Ladakh.
As per the reports available, most of the employees that have been apportioned to Ladakh are already serving in Leh, while those who are continuing their services in Jammu and Kashmir will be relieved by the concerned administrative department.
The Jammu and Kashmir administration in a government order No 1212-JK(GAD) of 2021 dated notified that 11189 employees serving on a substantive basis have been apportioned to the Union Territory of Ladakh on the basis of options exercised by them, in terms of Section 89 of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019;

Whereas, it was further provided in the Government Order ibid that the apportionment of 3369 additional employees referred by the Union territory of Ladakh can be considered after further verification.
Further, vide Order No. 47-LA (GAD) of 2022 and Order No. 48-LA (GAD) of 2022 dated 25.02.2022, the Union territory of Ladakh deputed a team of officers along with the details of 1600 employees for considering their apportionment to the Union territory of Ladakh and based on the scrutiny so conducted, cases of 1075 employees were found in order for consideration to their apportionment to Union territory of Ladakh.
Whereas, in terms of communication No. LA/GAD(ApportA&L)UTL/2020(14) dated 13.04.2022, the Union territory of Ladakh confirmed authentication of the details of the 1075 employees whose service credentials were found in order during joint verification conducted by the officers/ officials of the two Union territories;
While some representations were received in the General Administration Department, Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir from employees seeking apportionment to Union territory of Ladakh, and after consultation with the concerned Administrative Departments, the cases of employees of two departments are found in order for their consideration for apportionment to the Union territory of Ladakh, which included 8, of which 7 from Public Works and one Higher Education.
After considering the verified credentials of employees recommended by the Union territory of Ladakh and those recommended by the above Administrative Departments, the department-wise details of employees, who can be considered for apportionment to the Union territory of Ladakh based on their options, are summarized as 1083 employees
“Now, therefore, in the exercise of the powers under Section 89 of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019, the Lieutenant Governor of the Jammu and Kashmir, is pleased to apportion 1083 employees figuring in Annexure to this Order to Union territory of Ladakh”, reads the order issued by the General Administration Department.
It is further ordered that any variation in the details/ credentials of the above employees shall be rectified after considering original/ verified service records by the concerned Controlling Authorities, with approval of the competent authority, it reads.
The employees serving in the Union territory of Ladakh, from amongst the above, shall continue to serve in that Union territory while those continuing their service in the Union territory of Jammu & Kashmir shall be relieved by the concerned Administrative Departments immediately, it added.
