70% students pass; girls outshine boys
The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Thursday declared the results for Class 12, with 70 present pass percentage. Like previous years girl students again outshone boys as they have bagged most of top 10 spots in all three streams.
Total 53939 students appeared in the examination with Science, Commerce and Arts stream, out of which 37536, managed to pass, with overall passing percentage of 70%. 23929 girls appeared in 12th class examination and 17957 cleared it while 30,010 boys appeared for the exam, out of which 19579 boys declared qualified.
The pass percentage of girls stood at 75 %,while the pass percentage of boys is 65 percent.
Interestingly over 200 students among 80 percent of girls secure spot in top ten positions in Science stream. Four girls among seven have scored equal marks to secure rank one in Faculity of Science.

School, Hiranagar, Shiveet Raina son of Manoj Kumar Raina and Soneeta koul Raina of Kotwal National Instt. Of Teaching Hss, Talab Tilloo, Jammu, Simran Gupta daughter of Kuldeep Raj Gupta and Isha Gupta of Little Angels Hr. Sec. School, Kathua and Tamana Gupta daughter of Satish Gupta and Rakhi Gupta of Carmel Convent HSS, Kunjwani, Jammu remain topper in Science stream with 498 marks out of 500 and percentage of 99.6%.
Two girls among five scored 496 marks out of total 500 for second position. Ankit Sharma son of Raghbir Lal and Sharda Devi of Sir Abraham Llincoln Embark Garrison Sr. Sec. School, Bishnah, Harshit Sharma, son of Joginder Paul and Sunita Devi of Panorma Public Hr. Sec. School, Rajouri, Pratyaksha Gupta daughter of Pankaj Kumar and Rajni Gupta of M.H.S. Dav Public Hr. Sec. School, Udhampur, Ritika Bhau daughter of Ajay Singh Bhau and , Neeraj Bhau of Carmel Convent HSS, Kunjwani, Jammu and Saqib Raza son of Mohd Aslam and Tasveer Akhter of International Hr. Sec. School, Rajouri remained second toppers.
All five second toppers scored 497 marks out of 500 with 99.4 percent. Thirteen students scored equal marks for third position in Science subject. All third position taker scored 496 marks out of 500 with 99.2 percent.
The Commerce stream Vanshika Misra daughter of Sindhu Misra and Kalplata of Dogra Hr. Sec. School, Shastri Nagar, Jammu topped in Commerce stream with 497 marks out of 500 with 99.4 percent. Ayushi Sharma daughter of Rajeev Sharma and Meenakshi Sharma of Oriental Academy, HSS Jammu remain second topper with 496 marks and 99.2 percent.
Four students scored equal 495 out of 500 with 99 percent for third position. These topper are Disha Gupta daughter of Ashish Gupta and Renu Gupta of Govt. Girls hr. Sec. School, Shastri Nagar, Jammu, Divyansh Mahajan son of Rakesh Kumar Gupta and Nidhi Gupta of S.P. Sr. Sec. School, Bari Brahmana , Kumari Arti daughter of Joginder Pal and Kiran Devi of Dewan Devi Hss Rajpura Mangotrian, Jammu and Radhika Saini daughter of Kishor Kumar and Neelam Saini of S.P. Sr. Sec. School, Bari Brahmana
In Arts stream five students with equal 494 marks out of 500 with 98.8 percent topped in the list. For second and three position three –three students scored 493 and 492 marks with 98.6 and 98.4 marks respectively.
The five topper of arts named as Ishika Khajuria daughter of Sanjay Kumar and Neeta Sharma of Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Bharakh, Reasi, Jiya Pathania daughter of Shiv Dev Singh Pathania and Manju of S.P. Hr. Sec. School, Exchange road, Jammu, Palak Mahajan daughter of Joginder Kumar and Neeru Gupta of Vijay hr. Sec. School, Udhampur, Shakshi Sharma daughter of Pawan Kumar and Anita Sharma of S.P. Hr. Sec. School, Exchange Road, Jammu and Sunny Kumar son of Tara Chand and Bachno Devi of S.P. Sr. Sec. School, Bari Brahmana.
The top three scorer for second position are Heeya Jamwal daughter of Sohan Singh and Kavita Jamwal of S.P. Hr. Sec. School, Exchange Road, Jammu, Maanvi Gupta daughter of Nand Kishor and Nirmala Devi of
Shiksha Niketan Hr. Sec. School, Jeevan Nagar, Jammu and Neha Sharma daughter of Rakesh Kumar and Neena Sharma of Ajanta Hr. Sec. School, Gho-Brahmana and Zinky Sharma daughter of Sanjay Sharma and Bhawna Sharma of Himalayan Education Mission Hr. Sec. School, Rajouri.
The top three students for third position are Harvinder Kour daughter of Ram Singh and Sunita Kour of Shiksha Niketan Hr. Sec. School, Jeevan Nagar, Jammu, Manvi Chopra daughter of Naresh Chopra and Gulshan Chopra of Himalayan Education Mission Hr. Sec.
