Govt to setup 2 new degree colleges in Budgam, Shopian
The Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered the transfer of 138 Kanal and 1 Marla to the Higher Education Department (HED) to construct two new Government Degree Colleges in the valley.
The Government Degree Colleges will be constructed in District Budgam and Shopian. Reports said that the decision to establish two new Government Degree Colleges was taken last month during the meeting of the State Administrative Council, which was chaired by Lieutenant Governor Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha.
Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, Commissioner/ Secretary to Government Revenue Department, Jammu and Kashmir, has issued an order in this regard.

“Sanction is hereby accorded to the transfer of Shamilat Deh (Mehfooz Kahcharie) land measuring as per the description below in favour of Higher Education Department for construction of the new Government Degree College in District Budgam and Shopian”, reads the order issued by the Revenue Department.
The two new Government Degree College in Shopian and Budgam will be established to certain condition. As per the order the land shall be used only for the development/public purpose, i.e. for which the sanction of transfer has been accorded.
