Govt cancels attachment of doctors, paramedical staff
In order to restore health care facilities in rural areas, the Jammu and Kashmir government on Saturday cancelled the attachment of doctors and paramedical staff with immediate effect.
Sources said that from time to time, the doctors, as well as paramedics, have been attached to different posting, which has taken a heavy toll on the health care system in rural areas. Sources further said that this issue has been strongly taken note of by Principal Secretary to the Government, Health and Medical Education Department, Manoj Kumar Dwivedi.
Reports said that Dwivedi has made it clear to officials in Health and Medical Education in Jammu and Kashmir that there shall be no compromise with the health care facilities at the rural level.
Meanwhile, a circular in this regard has been issued by Principal Secretary to the Government, Health and Medical Education Department, Manoj Kumar Dwivedi.
“With a view to ensure better health care facilities to the general public and to restore the healthcare facilities in the rural areas, all the attachment of Doctors/Paramedics which have been made by all the Head of the Departments including Chief Medical Officers, ADMOs and Block Medical Officers or any other officer at their own level from time to time are hereby cancelled with immediate effect and they shall report back to their original place of postings”, the circular reads.
The concerned Head of the Department is directed to submit a compliance report in this regard latest by 1 August 2022, without any fail. Besides, all the concerned DDOs are also directed not to draw the salary of any doctors/paramedics attached in their jurisdiction, henceforth, it added.
In another circular issued by the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir, Chief Medical Officers, Medical Superintendents & Block Medical Officers have been asked to ensure the implementation of the Circular issued by the Health and Medical Education Department Jammu and Kashmir in letter and spirit and submit the compliance report to this Directorate by or before 30th of July 2022, without any fail.
“In pursuance of Administrative Department’s Circular No: 53-JK (HME) of 2022 Dated: 29-07-2022, (Copy Enclosed) regarding the subject cited above, all the attachments of Doctors/Paramedics, which were made by this Directorate from time to time, including Chief Medical officers, Medical Superintendents & Block Medical Officers or any other officer at their own level are hereby cancelled with immediate effect”, the circular reads.
