In our series of  ThePagahConversation with Sunita Kaul Roy, on her life journey and achievements in a metro city and how she made it to the top. Sunita Kaul Roy is a Kashmiri Pandit lady who has married in a Bengali family and has been living in Kolkata since long with her parental family.

Around twenty-five years back she started her career with a company in Kolkata and has earlier served in an underprivileged school which she thinks was her first connect with social activity and says that she had a good feeling by serving the poor children.

Sunita Kaul Roy is a thorough sports person and has represented her school in Republic Day parades and interschool debates and sports activities.

Sunita learned the knack of organising events in school itself and in the process met Ashok Kalanordia who was connected with Bharat Nirman Awards and Kalakar awards and started organising the big events for Bollywood and Tollywood besides Bharat Nirman Awards from where she started anchoring big shows.

Sunita Kaul Roy’s parents died when she was very young but they remained connected with Kashmiri culture through Kashmir Bhawan in Kolkata and says that it was from here that she got the rich cultural heritage from the Kashmiri Pandit Sabha Kolkata where all the religious and traditional functions were being held regularly which conditioned her into Kashmiri culture and its rich heritage.

Talking about her career she says that her parents and uncles were in the insurance industry and it was perhaps in her genes that she too ventured into Insurance sector and rose to a senior level and it was due to her hard work and dedication that she became a branch head of Max Life and finally to the post of Vice president of Kotak Insurance adding it has been a beautiful journey all along.

Sunita was one of the champions among the 100 champions of India and got this prestigious award at Singapore and has travelled all over the globe during her stint in max Life Insurance and Kotak Insurance.

She credits her success to Ravinder Kaul, Bhushan Raina and Ashok Kalanordia and many more and also gives the credit to her family particularly her husband Rakesh Roy who is a professional Singer and has always encouraged her to do her own thing.
