Armed Forces Tribunal will boost in disposal of cases says Defence Minister Rajnath Singh
On August 20, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said Armed Forces Tribunal will boost in disposal of cases which are continuously increasing in courts.
Addressing the National Seminar on ‘Introspection: Armed Forces Tribunal’ organised by the Armed Forces Tribunal (Principal Bench) Bar Association in New Delhi, Mr. Singh said the disposal of cases has become time-consuming.
He said it is commendable that the Armed Forces Tribunal is introspecting on important issues during Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
The Minister pointed out that domain specific tribunals are being envisaged and these specialised tribunals will be able to dispose of cases speedily.
He said the judiciary is a strong pillar of democracy but the foundation of this judiciary is less discussed.
He added that the foundation of the Judiciary is the lawyer community on whom people from all walks of life have placed their trust.
Law Minister Kiren Rijiju was also present on the occasion.
