“We had opened the call for entries for second edition in October last year and we got overwhelming
response. Owing to the success of first edition there was lot of excitement around second edition.
However, we had to postpone the festival which was scheduled earlier to be held in March to
September this year because of the looming fear of Covid 19. We received around 140 entries from 21
countries and our panel of judges has carefully curated screenings for the second edition which
including screening of 6 feature films, 39 shorts and 9 documentaries. 14 of them are from local
filmmakers which is a very heartening sign”, explained Rakesh Roshan Bhat, the festival director
“We are delighted that Directorate of Tourism has extended its support to the film festival which has put
Jammu in the league of cities hosting international film events globally and we are thankful to them for
this association”, said Rohit Bhat, the co-director of festival.

Sh. Vivekanand Rai, Director tourism expressed happiness that the film festival has got such a good
response and delegates from all over India are attending it. He also hoped that international delegates
would be hosted in future editions and make this festival a truly international destination for cinema
lovers.
The panel of judges includes prominent actor Lalit Parimoo, Geetiyan fame director Raahul Sharma,
Iranian filmmaker Alimohammad Eghbaldar, producer Kapil Mattoo and story board writer and critic
Amit Singh. The panel is headed by Sangeet Natak awardee and well known actor director Mushtaq kak.
“This was a much needed initiative and I compliment the organizers for taking the initiative. We are
hosting the closing ceremony at our newest tourist attraction, the musical fountain at Bagh-e-Bahu. We
will extend all the required support to make this event successful”, said Sunaina Mehta, Joint director
tourism.
“We are presenting the best of world cinema to cinema lovers in Jammu. It is an excellent opportunity
for youth of J&K to learn and network”, said Lalit Parimoo. “We will continue to have a separate section
for J&K where we will showcase work from local talent. We have tried to accommodate most of the
local projects for screening” added Mushtaq Kak.
Many prominent artists from the UT are scheduled to perform in closing ceremony award function
which includes Saptak classical fusion band, G-one policewala rapper, Koshur Raag team members Rohit
