Sensex down by 319 points; Nifty slips 89 points

The Sensex and the Nifty opened on a negative note this morning. When the market opened, the Sensex fell down 319 points, while Nifty slipped 89 points.

Bharat Forge, Bajaj Auto and Ashok Leyland fell down when the market opened this morning, while Vodafone Idea, Shree Cements and JK Cement gained. Most of the Asian bourses fell, as SGX Nifty, Nikkei 225, Taiwan Weighted and Straits Times  opened on a negative note.
