Crime against woman
The Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed significant spurt in crime against women as five women were made the subject of rape, four kidnapped and the same number of women had gone missing within merely twelve days in the ongoing month of September in Jammu- capital city of Union Territory.
While district Police Jammu, though, have yet to find any clue of the missing women and make the arrests of accused persons effective, reports said that the growing graph of crime against women is on rise in the smart city – Jammu.
If the official reports are to be believed, one kidnapping and two missing cases have been reported on Monday in the vicinity of the city. A complaint of the kidnapping has been lodged at the Nagrota police station where one Balak Ram so of Tulsi Ram of Chantipura Chattisgarh at present Jagti Colony informed police that his 17 year old sister has been kidnapped by one person namely Dyaram Chandra son of Anuj Ram of KawalaJhar Chhatishgarh.
On basis of the complaint , a case FIR No.336/2022 U/S 363/IPC has been registered in the Police Station Nagrota. Nagrota police had also received another complaint from one Ritesh Singh son of Narayan Siraj of Chantipura at present Jagti Colony Nagrota in which he told police that his 19 year old sister went to Nagrota market and did not return home. Based on the complaint police entered a missing report vide DD.No.05 dated 12/09/2022.
Another missing report of a woman has been lodged in police station Jhajjar Kotli where one Shakeel Ahmed son of Bashir Mohd of village Sandrote, Dansal informed police that his wife went to drop his children to school and did not return back to home. Based on the complaint a missing report has been entered at the Police Station jhajjar kotli vide DDR No.3 Dated 12/09/2022.
On 1st day of the September Peermitha police recovered an underage couple from Hyderabad, a case in this connection vide FIR No 42/2022 u/s 363 IPC (kidnapping) was lodged by the police . Police recovered the girl and arrested the accused abductor namely Momin Qazi son of Irfan Qazi of Shahidi Chowk Jammu. Recovered girl was later handed over to her parents and boy was shifted to Baal Ashram
On 5th September , a woman who was attending her ailing husband in the Emergency Ward of the Government Medical Hospital, GMC Jammu, was raped by an unknown person. The accused offered her a bottle of blood for her ailing husband, took her to a room and committed rape on her. Bakshi Nagar Police booked the accused person in a case vide FIR No 161/2022 U/S 376 IPC.
On 8th September, one Puran Babadur son of Tul Bahadur of Mochak tehsil Gorkha Nepal at present Akhnoor near Nagbani informed Akhnoor Police that his 16 year old daughter had been missing from home since 02/09/2022. Based on the complaint police had lodged a kidnapping case vide FIR No 260/2022 u/s 363 IPC.
On the same day, one person namely Devi Lal son of Adit Ram of Jamnipali tehsil Kartala District Korba Chattisgarh at present Bawa Talab, Kanachak reported at Police Station Kanachak his 17 year old daughter namely had been kidnapped from his house. Based on the complaint a case vide FIR No . 109/2022 u/s 363 IPC was registered at Police Station Kanachak.
Again on the same day Janipur police received a complaint that a woman namely Vidhushi Verma of 20 years had been missing from her house. Further, one person Sanjeev Sharma of Chowki Chora was booked by Nowabad Police vide FIR no 110/2022 U/S 3/4 POSCO Act for raping a minor girl.
On 9/09/2022, Gangyal Police booked one Gulshan Kumar of Rajouri for molesting a minor girl. Police booked him vide FIR No 106/22 U/S 452/354/IPC 7/8 under POSCO Act.
On 10/09/ 2022 one Ashwani Kumar son of Bachan Lal of Harsa Dabber lodged a written complaint at police station Bishnah stating that his 21 year old sister who went to market for shopping on 08-09-2022 did not return back to home. In this regard Bishnah police had lodged a missing report.
