Digital life certificate service in J&K to save pensioners from hectic process
With the Jammu and Kashmir government is launching service of Aadhaar-based digital life certificates for pensioners, the senior citizens seeking life certificates for pension will be spared from the ordeal of running from pillar to post.
In this regard, the Jammu and Kashmir Finance Department issued a circular on Monday said that they are digitizing the whole process of securing the life certificate for pensioners and family pensioners in the Union Territory.
The development comes after the office of Lieutenant Governor J&K Manoj Sinha received a suggestion during the “AWAAM KI AWAAZ” regarding the online attestation facility of life certificate(s) for pensioners.
Life certificates are required to be provided to the pension disbursing agencies, like Banks, etc. for the disbursement of pensions and it causes a lot of hardships and unnecessary inconvenience for the aged and infirm pensioners
Digital Life Certificate seeks to address this problem by digitizing the whole process of securing the life certificate. With this initiative, the pensioner’s presence before the pension disbursing agency or the certification authority will become a thing of the past, reads the circular issued by Vivek Bharadwaj Financial Commissioner, (Additional Chief Secretary), Finance Department.
All the pensioners/family pensioners having valid adhaar can submit their life certificates digitally through the following applications/platforms, the circular reads.
As per the circular, the Pensioner can download the Jeevan Pramaan Windows and Android client software from Jeevan Pramaan website. The client software will take care of registration for the life certificate, for authentication, it will use the Aadhaar Biometric Authentication platform.
Further for submission of Life Certificate Digitally through GoI UMANG APP on Mobile: “Pensioners have to download UMANG App from Google play store/ App Store, search Jeevan Pramaan and click on “generate life certificate”. Pensioner Authentication page will open and required information to be fed for generation of Digital Life Certificate”.
At Citizen Service Centre (CSC)/Aadhar Seva Kendra: The Pensioners shall visit the nearest CSC or Aadhaar Seva Kendra and provide the Aadhaar Number, Mobile Number, Pension Payment Order (PPO) Number, Account Number & Name of Pension Sanctioning Authority, the circular reads. “Then provide bio-metrics (Fingerprint). On successful Aadhaar based biometric authentication, Jeevan Pramaan will be generated with a unique Id called Pramaan Id as acknowledgment”, it added.
