Agniveer recruitment in J&K to begin today
The much-awaited army recruitment rally through newly rolled out Agnipath Scheme for aspirants will commence in Jammu and Kashmir from September 17 while the recruitment from Jammu is scheduled for next month on October 7.
The first recruitment rally will be held at Baramulla’s Pattan for the candidates from all ten districts of Kashmir and two districts of Ladakh to recruit soldiers as Agniveer under Agnipath scheme.
The candidates from Srinagar, Budgam, Ganderbal, Kupwara, Kulgam, Anantnag, Pulwama, Baramulla, Bandipora and Shopian besides Leh and Kargil could participate in the rally as per allotted time.
Officials said that enrollment for the recruitment rally has received an extraordinary response and that the military, union territory and district authorities have joined their hands to make the event a big success.
“Over 50000 candidates will be appearing for recruitment in the next few days in Baramulla,”
“Recruitment Rally to enroll ‘Agniveers’ for male candidates will commence at Haiderbeig, Pattan, Baramulla,” said Colonel Emron Musavi, Public Relations Officer (Defence) Srinagar.
The candidates who have applied for the rally have been allotted specific dates to appear for the rally. The rally has received overwhelming response.
The PRO also advised the candidates to beware of touts.
“The entire recruitment process is automated and no person can influence the result of any candidate. The candidates should have faith in their own capabilities and also be advised to beware of false promises made by various frauds and touts,” the PRO said.
Another recruitment rally will be held at the Zorawar Stadium in Jammu’s Sunjawan military station from October 7 for candidates from districts like Doda, Jammu, Kathua, Kishtwar, Poonch, Rajouri, Ramban, Reasi, Samba and Udhampur.
Interested and eligible candidates in the age range of 17.5-21 years can submit their applications online via the official Indian Army website– www.joinindianarmy.nic.in, joinindiannavy.gov.in and careerindianairforce.cdac.in.
Upon selection, Agniveers will be employed for four years and also get rigorous military training across various terrains like desert, mountain, land, sea or air.
After the completion of four years, Agniveers can apply for enrolment in the permanent cadre. Around 25 per cent applications will be accepted after factoring in merit and performance during service.
Earlier, the recruitment rally was held in the year 2019 at Sunjwan and physical tests were conducted for the candidates but Common Entrance Examination was cancelled and later the entire process was cancelled.
