Govt nods Rs.68 Cr for approved projects under Jammu Smart City
The Jammu and Kashmir government has sanctioned the release of over Rs.68 Crore for the execution of as many as 10 projects of Smart City Jammu during the current financial year 2022-23.
The work description includes improvement of the road from Dogra Chowk to KC Chowk, ad panels and dashboards display at intersections and street lights, smart lighting at 4 Tawi Bridges, the e-pay bill for civic services, an intelligent traffic management system, integrated command and control centre, façade lighting illumination of Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex, modernization of narwal fruit/vegetable mandi, Jammu smart public bicycle sharing system and static advertisement panels.
“Sanction is hereby accorded to the release of Rs.68.OO Crore as matching UT share, corresponding of Central Share releases in favour of Chief Executive Officer, mart City Jammu i.e. Single Nodal Agency of Smart City Jammu for the execution of various approved projects as detailed this order for utilization during the current financial year 2022-23”, read the order issued by Dheeraj Gupta, Principal Secretary to Govt. Housing & Urban Development Department.

“With this release, the total funds released as matching UT share for Smart City Jammu aggregates to the extent of Rs.195.00 crores”, the order said.
The release and subsequent utilization of the funds are subject to the following terms and conditions the funds shall be utilized strictly in accordance with the Mission Guidelines and for the purpose for which it has been sanctioned/released and shall not be utilized for setting up the SPV or for their internal uses.
The funds shall be regulated in accordance with the provisions of GFR, 2017 read with the Department of Expenditure, Govt. of India’s order No. 6/18/2019-PPD dated 23.07.2020 regarding the registration of bidders from a country which shares a land border with India and SCM guidelines the release of funds does not confer the sanction to incur the expenditure which should be booked only after observing all codal formalities.
As per the order Rs.11.30 Cr has been released for improvement of the road from Dogra Chowk to KC Chowk, Rs.1.50 Cr for ad panels and dashboards display at intersections and street lights, Rs.2.90 Cr for smart lighting at 4 Tawi Bridges, Rs.10.70 Cr e-pay bill for civic services, Rs.15 Cr for the intelligent traffic management system.
