Sensex loses 90 points, Nifty declines 44 points in afternoon trade

The Sensex and the Nifty today, September 21, witnessed modest in the afternoon trade. Both indices slipped in sync with losses in the global share markets. The Sensex was trading near 59,600 points while the Nifty was trading below the 17,800 level.

The Sensex lost 90 points, or 0.15 percent, to trade at 59,629. The Nifty also declined 44 points, or 0.24 percent, to trade at 17,773.

In the forex market, the rupee also depreciated 16 paise to trade at 79 rupees and 92 paise against the US dollar in afternoon deals.
