LMD books Kathua based Edible Oil brand for selling underweight products
Legal Metrology Department (LMD) has booked a Kathua based Edible Oil brand for selling underweight products in Anantnag.
As per the official sources, during inspection by Legal Metrology officials today in Anantnag, the mustard oil namely ‘Golden Agmark’ was found to be sold by lesser quantity as per the declared value on the package.
The 5 litre oil tins were found short by 160 ml and 15 litre pack was found short by 210 ml. The quantity was checked by the officials of LMD in the presence of general public at Main Chowk Anantnag after which the officials seized 245 such packs.
On packages of the oil brand, quantity was declared as 5 litres but when the same was measured, it showed less. Similarly, the 15 litre pack was found short by 210 ml.
