Active community engagement is vital to end TB: Telangana Governor
Telangana Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan has emphasised the need for active community engagement in the fight against Tuberculosis. She asked the TB Association of Telangana to intensify efforts to ensure the TB Mukt Telangana during the next two years, ahead of the national target of 2025.
She distributed nutritious food baskets to TB patients this morning in Hyderabad. She adopted 100 TB patients and will take responsibility for providing them nutritious food for six months.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan also called upon the donors and philanthropists to come forward to adopt the poor TB patients and provide them with nutritional food and other support for getting cured from the dreaded disease.
Taking inspiration from her, 10 officials of the Raj Bhavan also adopted ten TB patients. Currently there are about 28 thousand identified TB patients in Telangana.
