Power Minister R K Singh inaugurates 5th Assembly of International Solar Alliance in New Delhi
Power, New and Renewable Energy Minister R.K. Singh has said that the global dependence on fossil fuels is unhealthy not only for environment but also for the economy. Mr. Singh said this while inaugurating the 5th Assembly of the International Solar Alliance in New Delhi today.
He added that most experts have agreed that power generation through solar photovoltaic systems, is the most cost-effective and fastest solution. He added that more than 650 million citizens in the world do not have access of power supply. Mr. Singh said, the International Solar Alliance has come a long way since its formation and moving forward at rapid pace.
The Minister said, member countries of ISA have come together to fight the challenges of global climate change. He said, Solar technology has enabled to set up mini-grids in remote areas.
