Ladakh LG R K Mathur lays wreath at Police Memorial on Police Commemoration Day in Leh
Ladakh Lieutenant Governor R K Mathur laid a wreath at the Police Memorial on Police Commemoration Day, in Leh today. Ladakh Police also observed the Police Flag Day on 21st October.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Mathur said that the youngest police force in the country is commendable in many spheres in the Union Territory Ladakh.

He recalled the supreme sacrifice made by the police force in 1959 at Hot Springs in Eastern Ladakh region and said, Police Commemoration has special significance for Ladakh region. He also recalled the sacrifice of Ladakh native police in counter-insurgency and terrorism acts in Jammu and Kashmir.
LG also inaugurated a blood donation camp organized by the Leh Police, on the occasion. Ladakh Police also organized a series of events starting from today till this month end, to celebrate Rashtriya Ekta Diwas as well.
Ladakh Police is also organizing Ladakh Police Martyrs Cricket Tournament in Leh and Kargil Districts.
