Revenue Department to voluntary perform adhaar authentication
The Jammu and Kashmir Revenue Department has said it will be performing Aadhaar authentication on a voluntary basis for purpose of authentication of intending parties in registration offices.
The applicant has to sign a consent form for establishing his/her identity for purpose of e-KYC through UIDAI. A notification in this regard has been issued by Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, Commissioner/Secretary to the Government.
“ S.O 551; In pursuance of Section 4(1)(b)(II) Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016 (amended) read with Rule 5 of the Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance (Social Welfare, Innovation, Knowledge ) rules, 2070, the Revenue Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, having been authorized by the Central Government vide Office Memorandum F.no 13(6) 2022-EG-II dated 03.1(1.2022 hereby notifies the Sub Registrars (Registering Officers) In the Jammu and Kashmir Registration Department to perform Aadhaar authentication”, the notification reads.
The Aadhar authentication will be done on a voluntary basis, for the purpose of authentication of intending parties/applicants in various registration offices, using the Yes/No authentication facility or/and e-KYC authentication facility, during registration of registerable documents through the National Generic Document Registration System (NGDRS), the notification reads.
The Jammu & Kashmir Registration Department shall further comply with the guidelines laid down by the Central Government and directions Issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India with respect to the use of Aadhaar authentication. The consent form to be obtained from the applicants forms Annexure — ‘A’ to this notification, it added.
