ITTF-ATTU Asian Cup: Indian paddler Manika Batra to lock horns with Chen Szu Yu of Taipei in quarterfinals

In Table Tennis, ace Indian paddler Manika Batra will lock horns with world No. 23, Chen Szu Yu, of Taipei in the quarterfinals of the ITTF-ATTU Asian Cup tournament, in Bangkok, Thailand today.

Delivering one of the biggest victories of her career, World No.44 Manika stunned world No 7 Chen Xingtong of China in a thrilling round of 16 match yesterday. Manika defeated her Chinese opponent in a seven-set thriller with the score-line reading 8-11, 11-9, 11-6, 11-6, 9-11, 8-11, 11-9.

However, in the men’s singles, both the Indian challengers, Sathiyan Gnanasekaran and Sharath Kamal crashed out after losing in the first round.
