PM Modi to formally inaugurate Kashi-Tamil Samagam on November 19
Month-long Kashi Tamil Sangamam has started in Varanasi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the event formally tomorrow. The sangamam is being organized by the Government of India as a part of “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” and to uphold the Spirit of “Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat”.
Delegates from 12 different categories will come to Kashi from Tamilnadu during this one-month period and interact with their counterparts. Preparations for the grand welcome of the delegates are in full swing.
AIR correspondent reports, Kashillaye ungllailariyum varvairgirum..means welcome to Kashi and the city is all set to welcome the first batch of delegates who will arrive tonight at Varanasi railway station.
Grand welcome will be given to the delegates at the station and they will take part in the inauguration function tomorrow.
Union Minister for education Dharmendra Pradhan reached Varanasi yesterday evening to review the preparations for the sangamam.
Mayor of Kashi Dr. Mridula jayaswal told that people of Kashi are ready to welcome the delegates of Tamilnadu and the event will bring the two cultures together and revive the ages-old connections.
More than 2500 delegates from Tamil Nadu will be visiting Kashi in 8 different batches during the one-month-long program. Sushil Chandra Tiwari, AIR news Varanasi.”
The endeavour is in sync with National education policy 2020’s emphasis on integrating the wealth of Indian Knowledge Systems with modern systems of knowledge. IIT Madras and BHU are the two implementing agencies for the programme.
Mahant of world-famous Sankat Mochan temple of Varanasi, Professor Vishambhar Nath Mishra told AIR News that it was a much-needed step taken by government and the Kashi Tamil sangamam will strengthen the ties between north and southern part of India.
