BJP JK UT Committee headed by Dr. Nirmal Singh calls on LG Sh. Manoj Sinha

BJP JK units Committee headed by Dr. Nirmal Singh called on LG Manoj sinha in Raj Bhawan Jammu and apprised him of ground situation in Kashmir. Constituted by UT president to look into the issues agitating minority community in Kashmir, the committee had visited various places in valley met stake holders and also Divisional administration. They also received inputs from those on protest in Jammu.

Committee in its report submitted to LG Sinha, briefly pointed out back ground and different aspects of current situation.

It said that Post August 2019 historic constitutional changes in J&K the situation in the JK UT has changed unbelievably. People are now more vocal about peace, development and in conveying disapproval to killing of innocents by terrorists. Targeted killing of vulnerable sections of society in particular of those belonging to the minority religious community has been gaining a new momentum. Terming security of life a prime concern the committee after listening to cross section of stake holders including civil and police administration representatives’ underlined issues like seriousness of threat to life becomes that has become grave in light of faceless enemy. It admitted that Employees of all types belonging to minority community are justifiably scared and are asking for a breathing time till the threat to life remains high.

It asked for a thorough review and suitable amendments in orders asking for strict adherence to Biometric attendance.

Committee headed by Dr. Nirmal Singh pleaded with LG the need to release salaries of all the employees as a relief to human aspect of the suffering families. It also demanded a comprehensive Security audit be in consultation with representatives of risk groups. Committee asked LG Sinha to look into the issue of considering posting in Kashmir as Hard/Difficult area tenure to be rewarded with a suitable relaxing period of posting in Home district. It also raised the need to frame a comprehensive Transfer policy for all the minority community employees that includes all reserved category and those recruited under PM Package, Non-Package and under  all reserved categories as soon as possible.

Issues related to Minority community members dependent on orchards, agriculture and unorganised sector and a reasonable sustenance allowance to be paid regularly  was also raised by the committee. Protection of Left over properties of these vulnerable sections of the society was also stressed. Committee further pleaded appointment of a senior officer from UT administration as Nodal Officer to address grievances of minority community. LG Manoj Sinha gave a patient hearing to the issues raised by the committee members and assured them  appropriate action. The other members accompanying Dr. Nirmal Singh, Ex DY CM J&K & Chairman of the committee were Girdhari Lal Raina Ex MLC, Chand Ji Bhat  and Sh. Hira Lal Bhat
