Ten suspended revenue officials reinstated in J&K
The Jammu and Kashmir Government has reinstated 10 suspended revenue officials, including six of them who were caught red-handed while accepting bribes by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). Moreover, the administration on Wednesday suspended 2 more revenue officials for “illegal mutation” of Jammu Development Authority (JDA) land in favour of private parties.
According to government order number 247-JK(Rev) of 2022 dated 20/12/2022, on the basis of a recommendation by the Review Committee, pending an inquiry into the matter, these Revenue department officials have been reinstated.
Ashok Kumar, the then Naib Tehsildar, Gharota Tehsil Bhalwal suspended by the Deputy Commissioner, Jammu vide No.DCJ/SQ/Sus/2022-23/2139-42 dated 02.07.2022. Ravinder Bhagat Patwari, Patwar Halqa Akhnoor Khas, suspended by Financial Commissioner, Patwari, Revenue vide order No. 172-FC(Rev) of 2022, dated 03.08.2022. Raja Asif Farooq, the then Patwari Brain Nishat, was suspended by Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar vide Order No.02-DCS of 2022, dated 10.03.2022. Jameel Hussain Khan, Patwari Halqa Baghati-E-Shor, Eidgah, Srinagar Suspended by Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar vide Order No.14-DCS of 2022 dated 13.05.2022. Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, the then Patwari Tehsil Wakura, was suspended by Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal vide order number DCG/Estt/471/2021, dated 07.10.2021. Harbans Lal, Patwari suspended by Deputy Commissioner, Jammu vide order No.DCJAdm/PF/841-44 dated 17.09.2010. Monish Dev Singh the then Patwari Halqa Kanachack was suspended vide order no, ADC/ADM/PS/2021-22/2307 dated 07.12.2021.
Nazakat Ali, the then Patwari Halqa Khokhyal, Kathua was placed under suspension on 07.12.2018. Ashok Kumar, the then Patwari, Patwar Halqa Jassore, RS Pura was placed under suspension on 15.01.2022 and Romesh Chander the then Patwari, Patwar Halqa, Bhaddu of Tehsil Billawar, are officials who have been reinstated by the government.
But, six of these 10 officials were caught by the ACB while accepting a bribe and a case against these officials stands registered. “Ashok Sharma, Naib Tehsildar, Ravinder Bhagat, Patwari, and Raman Gupta (Tout) were trapped by the ACB and FIR number 06/2022- ACB Central, dated 29-06-2022 stand registered for demanding and accepting of Rs 1.5 lacs as bribe from the complainant.
Asif Farooq Wani was arrested by ACB demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs10,000 from the complainant then, Patwari, Halqa Brein Nishat, Srinagar, and Chowkidar Nazir Ahmad Dar, a case against him FIR number 08/2022- ACB Srinagar, dated 10-03-2022 stands registered.
Jameel Hussain Khan, Patwari Halqa Baghati-E-Shoor, Eidgah, Srinagar and Shafat-Ur-Rehman, retired Patwari trapped by ACB FIR no 15/2022- ACB Srinagar, dated 11-04-2022 stand registered.
Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, Patwari, Halqa Dab Wakura, Ganderbal was booked under FIR number 28/2021-ACB Srinagar 21-09-2021 by ACB for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.15,000 from the complainant. Nazakat, Patwari Nagri Parol Kathua was also caught red-handed while accepting a bribe and a case vide FIR number 39/2018-VOJ, dated 3/12/2018 stands against him.
Meanwhile, Two revenue officials were suspended for “illegal mutation” of Jammu Development Authority (JDA) land in favour of private parties, authorities said on Wednesday.
Administration has also ordered probe into the fraud, officials said.
As per the authorities concerned, the JDA had brought to the notice of district administration that JDA land was illegally mutated in favour of private parties.
Taking cognizance of the matter, one Naib Tehsildar and one Girdawar have been placed under suspension by the district administration on Wednesday as it was found that illegal mutation over JDA land had been entered and attested in violation of rules by them, officials said.
The suspended officials have been attached to the office of Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDN) Akhnoor and Chowki Choura respectively.
Sub Divisional Magistrate, Akhnoor has also been asked to conduct a detailed enquiry in the matter and furnish the report within 15 days, officials said.
